On July 9th, the anniversary of the first reading of the Declaration of Indepence to the Continental Army, we bring you the first ever screening of George Washington's story. This premiere is an invitation-only event for founding supporters, friends, and veterans.

The Huntington Beach community were a key part in what enabled us to make this film on such a tight budget. We are sincerely grateful to Darrell and the entire HBHS community, family, and friends, for being so kind to us, and for being such passionate fans of history. FILM SYNOPSIS

This is the human story of George Washington, not the monument, but the man. Despite his wishes to stay at his beloved Mount Vernon, duty would have a greater calling for George, leadership. At the heart of the film are the relationships that shaped our First President. His wife, his soldiers, and his slaves. A story that history has largely overlooked is finally told: the story of Chef Hercules, George's personal chef and one of the most celebrated culinary figures of the 18th century.

Chef Rush as Chef Hercules

Chef Andre Rush is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant who served multiple overseas deployments and spent years as a hand-to-hand combat trainer before becoming one of the most recognized chefs in America.

He went on to serve as a White House chef under four presidents, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump, making him one of the few people in American history to cook for the nation's leaders across party lines and across decades.

Outside the kitchen, Chef Rush does 2,222 pushups every single day, one for every veteran lost to suicide. He has made it his mission to use his platform to fight for the mental health of those who served.

In WASHINGTON: American Hero, Chef Rush brings to life Chef Hercules, George Washington's personal chef, one of the most celebrated culinary figures of 18th-century America, and an enslaved man who ultimately escaped to freedom. It is a story that history has largely overlooked. There was no one more fitting to tell it.
